r kids seeks candidates to join our mission as Directors for governance and financial stability of its mission to provide specialized, quality services to children and families in transition. Our objective is to promote permanency, safety and stability for children by providing nurturing services to biological, foster, adoptive and relative care families.
Connecticut Food Bank is in need of 2 adult volunteers who can safely unload and transfer boxes of food from the Food Bank truck into 3 Bridgeport food serving agencies on the 3rd Friday of every month starting in September.
The deliveries happen between 9:00-11:30 oon the 3rd Friday of each month. The first delivery is at Barnum House, then you will follow the truck to the Stratfield apartments, then the Clifford House. This food unloaded gets distributed to senior citizens throughout our Fairfield county service area.
We are in need of a volunteer to assist in a fast moving Procurement Department. The volunteer will be trained to work in and run reports from the food bank computer program (Ceres) and the position will involve lots of work with both data entry and report running and working with the reports. The selected volunteer will also answer phones, make calls and work on other projects as needed. The Volunteer is needed twice a week for 3-4 hours each visit. There is some flexibility as to the days and times.
Volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis to help sort, check and re-box donated donated food products at our Wallingford warehouse, 2 Research Parkway on Mondays from 1:00-3:00. Groups of 5-25 people are welcome and may make arrangements to visit on a one time or repeating basis. Individuals are needed on a recurring basis. Appointment required. No walk-ins. Due to safety issues this opportunity is not currently available to special needs clients/groups. Court ordered individuals may inquire.

Children In Placement is a non-profit organization that trains local volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care.
Fellowship serves three meals a day on weekdays, as well as lunch on weekends. Collaborations with faith-based, civic, or non-profit community volunteer organizations, to bring in and prepare one daily meal, helps our agency meet our rising food costs. A monthly (or more frequent) evening meal donation is coordinated with the volunteer organization, which includes the organization bringing in the food donation , preparing the donated meal in our kitchen, and serving the meal to individuals with disabilities who are attending Fellowship Place programming.

The Habitat ReStore, 286 South Colony Road, Wallingford, sells gently used and reusable items for the home, including furniture, appliances, lighting, tools, cabinets, vanities, sinks, and much more. ReStore volunteers perform a variety of tasks, including assisting customers, rearranging floor displays, store upkeep, etc. We are looking for volunteers who are self-motivated, reliable and cheerful.

Volunteers are vital to our operation. Each Saturday morning volunteers distribute bags of groceries to individuals and family (including a children's bag for each child), assist guests in the clothing closet area , greet waiting guests with hot coffee, juice, and breakfast pastries, watch children in our children's corner , and ensure the environment is kept clean and welcoming.
One volunteer (per day) is needed to ride with the Kids' Backpack driver Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the school year. Volunteers may apply for one or more days a week but must be available each week. The right volunteer must be able to lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Each day's route runs between 4-6 hours. Point of departure and return is always Connecticut Food Bank's Fairfield Warehouse, 74 Linwood Avenue.
